Description

GREAT WISHFORD WEST STREET SU 03 NE (north side) 3/36 Eagle Cottage GV II Detached house. Mid C18. Flemish bond brick with vitrified headers, stone quoins, tiled roof with gable end brick stacks. Two-storey, 3-window; sashes. Chamfered plinth of chequered flint and stone, central door with 4 fielded panels and integral transom, panelled reveals with flat-arched stone head with keystone, 12-pane flush sash in moulded architrave with wedge lintel with keystone either side. Moulded string course over lintels. First floor has 12-pane flush sash either side of central single-light casement. Modillioned cornice. Right return has single-light casement to first floor, attached is C20 extension. Left return has single- light casement to ground floor. Rear of chalk and flint, one attic raking dormer with 2-light casement. Attached C19 extension with casements and Welsh slate roof. Interior retains good stairs with two turned balusters per open string tread, shaped cheeks and moulded handrail, window shutters and 6-panelled doors.
