Description

The Mullins monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard, about 1 metre south of the Baker monument and south of the chancel of the Church of St. Thomas. This monument dates from the mid to late 18th century and is constructed of ashlar stone. It features two shield plaques on each side and a plaque at each end, all flanked by Roman Doric columns. The tomb has a moulded base and cornice that projects forward at the columns, and a ridged top stone. The plaque on the east end displays three carved cherub heads. All inscriptions were recut in the 19th century, with the earliest date recorded as 1733.
