Description

This is a house, representing an 18th-century recasing of a building range dating from the 15th to 16th centuries. It is constructed of rubble stone with a stone slate roof and a central ridge stack. The house has an L-shaped plan, with a 3-window front facade over two storeys. The roof is half-hipped at the east end and hipped at the west end. The front features cyma-moulded mullion windows; three flush 2-light windows are positioned above, and two flush 2-light windows, along with one recessed 3-light window, are present below. The lower windows have dripstones. Timber framing is visible in the gable of the east end and in the rear chimney gable. The west end features casement pairs and a front door, with a stack located at the north end of the main roof. A lower roof runs northwards, extending over a heavily timber-framed section with brick infill and a large tension brace. This continues over a through passage and a garage, the latter with a hipped north gable; the garage is a 20th-century addition. The interior has not been inspected.
