Description

Ford Farmhouse is an early 19th-century farmhouse constructed of limestone ashlar and English bond brick, with a Welsh slate hipped roof and stone stacks. The building is arranged in an L-shape. The south front has three windows and is two storeys high. A central two-storey porch features a segmental-headed double door with margin glazing; a 20th-century porch has been added in front of this. Flanking the porch are two-light chamfered mullioned casements with hood moulds. Above, a single-light casement with a hood mould sits over the porch, with two-light mullioned casements on either side. The right return has a canted bay with a castellated parapet and a two-light mullioned casement to the left, a projecting central bay with a two-light mullioned casement, double six-panelled doors, and a two-light mullioned casement to the right. The first floor of the right return shows five mullioned casements with hood moulds; the right two bays are built of brick. The rear of the property has two-light mullioned casements, and a slated porch is supported by wooden posts.
