Description
Can Court Farmhouse is a late 16th-century farmhouse constructed from coursed limestone with ashlar quoins and a stone slated roof. It is two stories high and consists of three bays, with a cellar and attics. The central hall features a two-story porch, flanked by reception rooms and a rear extension. The farmhouse has gable stacks with diagonal flues and an elevation characterized by twin steep pitched gables topped with ball finials. The upper floor windows are ovolo moulded stone-mullioned with square labels, while the lower windows have been renewed. Stone relieving arches are present, and the porch is timber framed with moulded jetty bressumers and moulded eaves. The interior has not been seen but is said to contain panelling and a stair that were brought from Broad Hinton Manor House.
