Description

Lindens is a semi-detached house located on the south side of Heytesbury High Street. It was built in the late 18th century, with a rear extension added in the mid-19th century. The house is constructed of rendered brick and features a tiled roof with brick stacks. It has a parallel-range plan and is two stories high with three windows on the front, which are fitted with sash windows.

The central entrance consists of a six-panelled door topped by a fanlight, all set within a moulded round-arched surround. On either side of the door, there are four-pane flush sash windows with keystones. The first floor has three four-pane sash windows. The right corner of the front displays chamfered rusticated quoins. The left side of the house features a glazed door and 20th-century casements on the first floor, along with a 20th-century wooden fire escape.

At the rear, there are margin-pane French windows, a glazed door, and a two-light casement on the ground floor, while the first floor has three four-pane sash windows with keystones. Inside, the house has a central staircase with stick balusters, a wreathed handrail, and shaped cheeks on the treads. There are elliptical arches connecting the front and rear ranges, with six-panelled doors in the front and four-panelled doors in moulded architraves at the rear, along with internal window shutters.
