Description
The barn located to the south-east of Number 38 is a Grade II listed building, dated 1763, as indicated on the west gable above the grain hoist doorway. It is constructed from coursed rubble with weatherboarding on the north midstrey gable and features wooden lintels and a stone slate roof. At the time of the resurvey in June 1986, the barn was being converted into a house. The midstrey now serves as the front door to the house, with the weatherboarding extended and circular stone piers added for the door jambs. Casement windows are being inserted on the east and west sides, along with two-leaf French windows on the south. Inside, the original butt-purlin, collar, and tie-beam roof structure have been preserved and are displayed in the upper room.
