Description
The de Reede de Ter memorial, located east of the Anglican chapel at Torquay Cemetery, dates from around 1896. It is made of white marble and is designed in the Quattrocento style. The memorial features a pedimented white marble tablet that is flanked by fluted composite pilasters, adorned with egg-and-dart and bead-and-reel mouldings. Notably, there is fine relief carving of the Madonna and Child, which is likely of Italian origin. The inscription commemorates Kitty, Baroness de Reede de Ter, who passed away in 1896. The quality of the carving is unusually high.
