Description
This is an early 19th-century house, located on New Road in Lower Brixham. The building has solid rendered walls and a slated roof, with a brick chimney on each end wall; the left chimney is painted, while the right chimney is rendered on its left side. It is a two-storey, symmetrical structure with a three-window front and a central doorway. The ground floor is rusticated, with rusticated pilaster strips flanking the upper storey. The round-arched doorway has a plain architrave and a late 20th-century half-glazed door. Ground-floor windows are set within shallow segmental-headed recesses with continued imposts and have late 20th-century metal frames. Upper-storey windows have two-light mullioned-and-transomed wooden frames. In front of the house is a low stone rubble garden wall topped with dressed stone blocks, which has been heightened with a low rendered wall. A footpath to the left leads to a closet wing, which is two windows wide and set well back.
