Description

This is a house dating to the 1860s, located in Torquay. It is constructed of stucco, with a slate roof and gabled ends. The left end and rear right have rendered stacks with decorative platbands. The house follows a double-depth plan with two rooms per floor, arranged around a central entrance.

The symmetrical front façade has three bays, with the central bay recessed. The recessed bay contains a round-headed doorway with a four-panel door and a fanlight featuring spider's web glazing bars. The windows are 12-pane sashes; two windows are located on the ground floor of each bay, and three on the first floor. The right end of the house has cusped, pierced bargeboards, and one first-floor window. A French window with glazing bars and overlight is also present. A flat-roofed projection extends from the left end of the building. The interior of the house has not been inspected, but it is likely to contain features of interest.

To the right of the front of the house, there is a garden enclosed by cast-iron railings with decorative spear finials. A gate pier with low pyramidal caps marks the entrance.
