Description

Castle Cottage is a house dating from the early 19th century, with an added lean-to. It features solid roughcast walls, while the rear wall is slate-hung. The roof is hipped and slated, and there is a rendered chimney on the rear wall. The building is two storeys high and two windows wide, with a central doorway. A 20th-century glazed wooden porch has been added. The windows are primarily 6-paned sashes set in recessed box-frames, except for the left-hand ground-storey window, which is a notable bowed window with 10-paned sashes and a moulded cornice. The deep, flat eaves-cornice extends around the left side wall and the front part of the right side wall. The left side wall contains one window on each storey, which are 6-paned wood casements. The added lean-to on the right side wall has a small-paned window at the front.
