Description

The premises of Wellhouse Pottery Ltd, formerly known as Brixham Pottery, are located on Milton Street in Higher Brixham. These outbuildings, originally associated with Nos 24 and 26, likely date from the 19th century, although the central section may be older. The structure is primarily made of painted stone rubble, with a roughcast central section that may be cob. It features a slate roof adorned with crested ridge tiles and ventilators at the left-hand end.

The building is two storeys high with irregularly placed windows. The left-hand section includes a large cart entrance that has been filled in with a 20th-century door and window, alongside a small wood-framed window with an upright iron bar to the left and a plain window to the right. The upper storey contains two louvred windows. The central section features a segmental-headed doorway with a late 20th-century plank door, a small plain window to the left, and a 20th-century wood mullioned and transomed window to the right. There is also a small wood casement window under the eaves on the upper storey to the right. The right-hand section has a full-height cart entrance that has been infilled with a late 20th-century door and glazing. This building is included for its group value.
