Description

Pomeroy Cottage is a cottage located in a cul-de-sac behind Nos 94A and 94B in Higher Brixham. It is likely from the 17th century or earlier, with some superficial alterations made in the mid-19th century. The building is constructed from painted stone rubble and features a slated roof, along with a small red-brick chimney on the right end wall.

The cottage is double-fronted and probably consists of one room in depth. The left end appears to be part of No. 94, with masonry that seems to be from the same construction as that property's short rear wing. The cottage is two storeys high and has three windows across its front. The doorway, which is off-centre to the right, contains a six-panelled door where the two middle panels are flush and the top two are now glazed. It is accompanied by a trellised wood porch. To the right of the door is a two-light wood casement window with four panes per light, while to the left is a small plain wood-framed window, which seems to be part of a blocked doorway. On the upper storey, there is a two-light wood casement window with three panes per light to the right and a single-light wood casement with three panes to the left. The left end, which is separately occupied, has a late 20th-century wood casement window on each storey.

The interior of the cottage has not been inspected.
