Description
Hall Bank Cottage is a cottage that likely dates from the mid 18th century and has been altered over time. It is constructed from cream-painted random rubble with quoins and features a stone slate roof. The building has a single-depth, two-unit plan oriented on an east-west axis, facing south, and includes a one-unit outbuilding at the west end.
The cottage is two storeys high and has three windows. There is a doorway that is offset to the right of centre, which is protected by a 20th-century glazed porch. To the left of the door, there are two 2-light casements, and to the right, there is one 2-light casement. On the first floor, there are three square 12-pane windows, all with tilting casement openings at the top. The left gable features a corbelled chimney, while there is a gable chimney on the right side.
The single-storey outbuilding to the left, which is now internally integrated with the house, has one 2-light casement. At the rear, there are through-stones on three levels and a small pantry window to the outbuilding. Inside, the housepart to the left has two slender lateral beams.
