Description

This is a pair of early 18th-century houses located on Drew Street in Higher Brixham. They may have originally been part of a larger house that was later divided. The houses have solid rendered walls and a slate roof. A large red-brick chimney is located on the right end wall, and a smaller red-brick chimney, featuring a raised band forming a cap, sits behind the ridge at the left-hand end. The houses are two storeys high, with two windows on each floor. A pair of doorways are centrally placed. The upper-storey window on the right-hand side is not aligned with the window below. The front doors are late 20th-century wood-panelled. Most of the windows are 2-paned box-framed sashes, although the upper-storey window on the right-hand side has a late 20th-century plastic frame. A coved eaves cornice runs along the top of the building. Number 85, which is not included in the listing, may originally have been part of the same building and was remodelled in the late 19th century. The buildings are included on the list for their group value.
