Description

This is a 18th-century, one-and-a-half storey thatched cottage located on New Road, Chisleborn. The original core of the cottage dates to around 1749, evidenced by a central chimney’s construction date. It is built of rendered rubble, with a later, likely early 19th century, brick extension to the right. The cottage has two eyebrow dormers and three windows on the ground floor, each a three-light casement with a segmental head. A ledged door is positioned to the right of the centre. A small hipped extension is attached to the left. Extending to the rear is a long “L” shaped barn and associated buildings, likely of early 19th century origin, constructed partly of brick and partly of timber framing. These rear extensions have a mix of roofing materials including thatched and corrugated iron.
