Description

Chiseldon Manor House is an early 19th-century building. It is two storeys and has an attic. The house is constructed of red brick on a stone footing, with a moulded stone cornice and a parapet. There are three dormers, and the roof is covered with modern tiles. Gable end chimneys are visible, the left-hand one featuring a moulded band. The front facade has three windows, with the outer windows being tripartite and featuring glazing bar sashes. A central doorpiece is present, incorporating pilasters and a six-panel door with the upper two panels glazed. U-plan extensions have been added to the rear and to a closing wall; this wall retains one gate pier topped with a ball finial. A kitchen garden wall, dating from the same period and constructed of brick with a stone capping, runs to the south of the house. A rubble retaining wall is present at Turnbull.
