Description

Blythe Cottage is a 17th century, possibly older, thatched cottage with one and a half storeys. It features painted rubble walls and brick ridge chimneys. The cottage has one small two-light dormer window in thatch and two small casement windows on the ground floor, both with wooden lintels. There is a modern ash door with strap hinges, which comes from a demolished church, located to the left of centre in a slight recess. The left bay of the cottage includes a two-door timber shed extension from the mid 19th century. The building has an 'L' plan at the rear. Inside, there is a cambered lintel above the fireplace, and the centre post of the ground floor dividing wall has enriched moulded brackets supporting the beam.
