Description

No 4 on Church Street is a 18th-century cottage that includes an older structure. It is a one and a half storey building with a thatched roof, constructed from local random rubble with brick quoins on the left side. The west gable and the road-facing front are made of brick. The cottage features two chimneys and has two small dormers in the thatch on the road side, along with one window and remnants of timber framing to the left. Attached to this cottage is a painted rubble former barn that has one window and double garage doors, which actually belongs to No 3. Inside this adjoining barn, the east gable end wall of No 4 is visible, showcasing its bressumer.
