Description

The Devilstone wall and garden walls to the north at Parsonage Farmhouse are likely from the 18th century and early 19th century. The rubble retaining wall is approximately 5 to 6 feet high and about 5 yards long, connecting to the house at its south-west corner. Embedded in one of its corners is a crude relief figure known locally as "The Devil Stone." The garden walls, which appear to be from the 18th century, are made of brick and partly rest on the rubble retaining wall, leading to the churchyard. These walls are also about 5 to 6 feet high and feature moulded stone coping. The north wall is approximately 30 yards long, the east wall is about 40 yards long, and there is a short return to the south measuring about 10 yards.
