Description

Chiseldon Cottage is a building that dates from the 16th and 17th centuries, which was remodeled in the early to mid-19th century, as indicated by the datestone 1841X on the east gable of the northeast wing. There are also two other datestones, one near the first and another on the north gable, which reads "1615 over R S". The front of the cottage features a 2 and a half storey structure with a random rubble ground floor and later rubble on the first floor. It has a modern tile roof with gable end chimneys and two gabled dormers. On the first floor, there are three windows with glazing bar sashes set in moulded frames. The ground floor includes two angled bay windows from around 1900 and a central half-glazed door. At the rear, there is an 'L' plan extension.
