Description

Burford House is a late 18th-century building located on the east side of Swindon Street in Highworth. It is a two-and-a-half-story structure finished with stucco that is grooved to resemble ashlar. The building has a plinth and a band running along the first-floor window sills. It features three windows with glazing bar sashes. The central doorway is from the mid-19th century, incorporating a four-panel door and an unusual arcaded and traceried fanlight. A modern projecting porch is supported by slender columns. The roof is slate-covered and has two ridge chimneys. There are two gabled dormers with Yorkshire sashes. A smaller door is located to the right of the main entrance.
