Description

This is a mid-18th century front range of buildings constructed from rubble with ashlar quoins and a stone slate roof. Behind the front range are older cottages. The building has two and a half storeys and a cellar. It features two gabled dormers and a coved eaves cornice. There are four windows, with sash windows in recessed moulded frames. The ground floor has two angled bays, with a later ashlar base to early 20th century shop windows, all set under a continuous fascia, and a central entrance door. A six-panel door is located to the left. It currently functions as a hardware store, although a sign indicates a previous use as a family grocery business. A good ashlar chimney is present on the right-hand side. There are two-storey stone-tiled extensions to the rear, dating from the 17th and early 18th centuries. The staircase has dado panelling.
