Description

This is a group of three chest tombs located in the churchyard, six meters southwest of the south porch door of the Church of St. Mary in Lydiard Park. The tombs are arranged in two rows and made of limestone. They feature moulded tables with reeded fascias, recessed corner balusters, and lightly incised decorations surrounding the inscriptions.

In the east row, from north to south, the first tomb has illegible inscriptions in two oval panels with drapery above. The second tomb is for Rebecca (surname illegible), who died in 1799, and also has two oval panels. In the west row, the tomb of Jacob Hayward, who died in 1801, is next to that of Jane, who died in 1828.
