Description

The railings and piers to the churchyard of the Church of St. Mary in Lydiard Park date from the early to mid 19th century. They are made of limestone and feature wrought iron railings set on a low wall that encloses the north side of the churchyard. The gate piers and end piers have cinquefoil recess panels and offset tops, which are topped with foiled crosses. The rubble dwarf wall has heavy copings that support spear-headed railings, with simple arches springing from bosses beneath the top rail.
