Description
Parkside Farmhouse is a 16th-century farmhouse constructed from limestone rubble and topped with a stone slate roof. It stands three storeys tall and was originally designed in an 'E' plan. However, the structure to the right of the central porch was replaced in the 18th century with one-storey and attic service rooms. The porch is two storeys high and features a gabled design, a two-light stone-mullioned window, and an open door accessed by a flight of steps, all topped with a moulded segmental arch. Above the door, there are arms and supporters that are said to date back to 1581. The left wing of the farmhouse is gabled and has two- and three-light stone-mullioned windows with label mouldings, kneelers, and a gabled apex stone. The windows in the main block were replaced in the 18th century with three-light timber windows that have rendered jambs. The structure to the right of the porch has a hipped roof and has been extended to the rear to serve as a dairy. There are two brick stacks on the building. The interior has not been seen.
