Description
This is an 18th-century chest tomb located in the churchyard, approximately 25 metres southwest of the west porch of the Church of St. Mary Magdalene in Tormarton. The tomb is made of limestone and features a flat top with a moulded edge and a moulded base. It has corner pilasters adorned with simplified guilloche moulding. On the east and west sides, there are raised oval panels surrounded by an egg and dart motif. The north side displays a large oval panel with a moulded surround, complemented by vigorous carvings of leaves and flowers on the sides. The south side has two fielded rectangular panels. The inscriptions on the tomb have worn away over time.
