Description

The Neale chest tomb, located 7 metres south of the southwest corner of the south transept of the Church of St Mary, is a chest tomb dating from the mid-18th century. It is made of limestone ashlar and features a provincial baroque style, characterized by moulded pilasters, inscribed shield panels, a pulvinated frieze, and a moulded cornice. This chest tomb is part of a notable collection of local and classical tomb forms and significantly enhances the setting of the church.
