Description
The Neale chest tomb is located 11 metres south of the south-west corner of the south transept of the Church of St Mary. It dates from 1694 and is made of limestone ashlar in a provincial baroque style. The tomb features inscribed square panels, a moulded entablature, a cornice, and ends shaped like a lyre. This chest tomb is part of a notable collection of local and classical tomb forms and significantly enhances the setting of the church.
