Description
The Keepen monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard approximately 20 meters southwest of the tower of the Church of St. Mary Magdalene in Tormarton. This early 19th-century tomb is made of sandstone and features a flat top with a moulded edge and a moulded base. It has concave quarter balusters and inscription panels on all sides. The north and south sides have paired shaped panels with a chevron surround on the north side and a small central upper cartouche. The monument commemorates John Keepen, who died in 1819, along with other members of the family.
