Description

This chest tomb, located 10 yards southeast of the Priest's Door of St. James' Church, dates from the mid-18th century and was created by Witchell/Hopkins. It is made of limestone ashlar and features square inscribed panels, corner balusters, and a moulded plinth and cornice. The chest tombs are a notable collection of both local and classical tomb styles, significantly enhancing the church's setting.
