Description

This building on Thornbury High Street is a mid-to-late 18th century remodelling of a mid-17th century structure. The front is rendered and marked to resemble ashlar. It has a pantiled roof hidden behind a parapet. The building is two storeys high with three windows; the window on the left is a 19th-century bay window. Modern shopfronts now occupy the ground floor, with a 19th-century decorative cast-iron veranda sheltering the south end of the left shopfront. Two gabled wings project from the rear. Inside, a five-light chamfered mullion window is visible in the south wall. There are stop-chamfered spine beams. A north rear room on the first floor features a double ovolo moulded beam with decorative plasterwork on its underside.
