Description

No 24 on High Street in Thornbury is a building that underwent mid to late 18th century remodelling of a 16th century structure. The exterior is rendered and lined out to resemble ashlar stone. It features a double Roman tiled roof and an iron gutter adorned with repousse animal heads. The building has three windows, which are glazing bar sashes, with the outer windows designed as Venetian windows. The ground floor has later shopfronts and doors, all beneath a continuous roof that includes a cast iron Gothic balustrade.

Inside, the building has a wind-braced roof and stop-chamfered beams. There is also a blocked four-centred door on the south wall that used to lead to a side passage.
