Description

This chest tomb, located 16 yards south of the chancel of St. Andrew's Church, commemorates Sarah Apley, who died in 1812. It is made of sandstone ashlar and features inscribed panels with decorative surrounds, corner balusters, and a moulded plinth and cornice. The chest tombs in this area represent a fine collection of both local and classical styles, significantly enhancing the church's setting.
