Description

This statue, located approximately 140 yards south of the Summer House, dates from the mid to late 18th century. It is believed to represent Neptune and was erected by William Champion of Warmley House. The statue features a relatively simple relief set against a background of black slag material, with some rendering. It stands about 20 feet high and is positioned in the center of a former lake, which is now dry and cultivated.
