YATE CHURCH ROAD (west side) Raggat chest tomb 11 metres south of south porch of Church of St Mary

(Formerly listed as Raggat Chest Tomb, 11 yards south of south west corner of porch of St Mary's Church)

GV II Chest tomb. Anne Raggat, died 1891, but earlier C18 tomb. Limestone ashlar. Panelled sides with enriched corners and egg and dart ornament; moulded entablature and cornice. The chest tombs represent a good collection of local and classical tomb forms and contribute greatly to the setting of the church.
