Description

The boundary stone set into the plinth of Number 1 Regent Street dates from 1823 and is a McAdam road mark, making it an important historical feature. It follows the usual pattern with three concave facets. The central facet is inscribed with "Bristol Turnpike Trust," while the left facet reads "St Geo.- pH" and the right facet states "BITTON pH." The stone has a moulded base and a domed top.
