Description

The Powles Chest Tomb, located 1 yard to the west of the Williams Chest Tomb, is a Grade II listed structure. It is a chest tomb dedicated to Daniel Powles, who died in 1802. Made of sandstone ashlar, the tomb features square inscribed panels along with a moulded plinth and cornice. This chest tomb is part of a notable collection of local and classical tomb forms, significantly enhancing the setting of the church.
