Description
The Allen chest tomb, located 6 yards southwest of the priest's door of St. Andrew's Church, is a Grade II listed structure. It commemorates Thomas Allen, who died in 1625, or possibly another Allen who died in 1702. The tomb is made of limestone ashlar and features sunken square panels, along with a moulded plinth and cornice. This chest tomb is part of a noteworthy collection of local and classical tomb forms, significantly enhancing the church's setting.
