Description

The Ford Family Chest Tomb, located 3 yards to the east of the chancel of St. Andrew's Church, is a Grade II listed structure. This chest tomb commemorates Elizabeth Ford, who died in 1800. It is made of sandstone ashlar and features square panels with incised lettering, corner pilasters, and a moulded plinth and cornice. The chest tombs are a notable collection of local and classical tomb designs and significantly enhance the church's setting.
