Description

The Bennett Chest Tomb, located 3 yards southwest of the Tower of St. Leonard's Church, is a Grade II listed chest tomb dedicated to Joseph Bennett, who died in 1801. It is made of sandstone ashlar and features square inscribed panels along with shield panels on the sides. The tomb has a moulded plinth and cornice. This chest tomb is a notable example of local and classical tomb forms, enhancing the overall setting of the church.
