Description

The gateway located 30 metres south of Frenchay Park dates from the mid to late 18th century. It is constructed of rubble brought to courses and features freestone. The structure includes a 2.5 metre high wall that stands slightly proud of the adjoining wall. This wall has soldier course coping and a square-headed opening. The jambs and head of the opening are vermiculated and rusticated, with similar voussoirs and a keystone beneath a plain cornice.
