Description

Frenchay Bridge is a bridge built in 1788, constructed from rubble and dressed stone. It features a single span with an almost round arch made of rubble arranged as voussoirs, topped with a larger keystone. The arch rises to plain rough dressed coping that is splayed at the ends to connect with the retaining walls. A cast iron plaque with incised lettering reads "Frenchay Bridge/By Subscription/1788".
