Description

The Pearce Chest Tomb, located 3 yards north of the porch of St. Leonard's Church, is a Grade II listed structure. It commemorates Joanna Pearce, who died in 1795. The tomb is made of sandstone ashlar and features inscribed panels with decorative borders, corner balusters, a fluted frieze, and a moulded plinth and cornice. This chest tomb is part of a notable collection of local and classical tomb designs and significantly enhances the church's setting.
