Description
This building is a barn and attached outbuilding, likely dating from the late 18th century, located about 45 yards northeast of Manor Farmhouse. It is constructed from rubble with a mix of sand and lias stone, featuring freestone quoins. The roof is modern pantile, with stone-tiled eaves courses, and the end gables have copings and saddlestones.
On the southeast elevation, there is a gabled porch with wide double doors beneath a 19th-century wooden lintel, and a shallower hipped roof porch at the rear. A cowshed lean-to is located at the back, flanking a midstrey, with single loop vents. The gable ends have moulded window openings. Inside, the timber roof is of a simple truss form, though many rafters have been replaced, and there are ten half bays.
An early 19th-century extension to the outbuilding runs at right angles to the left, featuring a hipped roof. There is a plain door opening on the upper level accessed by stone steps, a square-headed opening to the first and ground floor on the right, and a full-height throughway to the left.
