Description
The walls enclosing the former walled garden, located 40 yards northeast of Ashwicke Hall, date from around 1857 to 1860. They are constructed of coursed squared rubble with ashlar coping and stand approximately 8 feet high. The main gateway is situated in the center of the southwest side and features a chamfered four-centred arch with a crested parapet and saddleback capping, along with a decorative cast iron gate. There are smaller pedestrian gateways in the northwest and southeast walls, each with a chamfered pointed arch topped by a gable and a square crested turret. The area is now occupied by a swimming pool.
