Description

Elburton Cross is a preaching cross that likely dates back to the 15th century. It is made of dressed granite and features a massive square base with chamfered corner stops and deep pockets. The cross has a short remaining length of shaft with run-out chamfers, which is socketed into the base. This structure is set on a 20th-century dressed granite base. The original location of the cross was approximately 100 yards (91 meters) to the north-east.
