Description
No. 61 Molesworth Road, also known as Rosehill Villas, is a detached villa located in Plymouth, built in the mid-19th century. The exterior features stucco with stucco detailing and a dry slate hipped roof concealed behind a stuccoed parapet that has a moulded cornice. The villa has a double-depth plan, likely consisting of two rooms at the front flanking a central entrance hall, with a lower service wing on the right side.
The building stands two storeys high and originally had a symmetrical three-window entrance front, although it has since been extended in front of the right-hand ground-floor window. The original windows are 12-pane hornless sashes. The ground floor showcases channelled rustication and keyed segmental arches, along with a band above. There is a distyle porch featuring a moulded entablature, an overlight, and a panelled door. The left-hand return presents a three-window garden front with similar detailing. The interior has not been inspected but is expected to be of interest.
This listing also includes No. 272 Stuart Road.
