Description
This is a pair of houses located on George Lane in Plympton St Maurice, dating from the 18th century. They feature incised stucco and a steep asbestos slate roof with a heavy modillion eaves cornice, half-hipped on the left side. The roof includes one hipped dormer on the left and three roof-lights, with rear lateral stacks. Each house has a single-depth plan, likely consisting of two rooms flanking a central entrance passage.
The buildings are two storeys tall, plus attics that were converted in the 20th century. Each house has a symmetrical three-window front, with 20th-century two-light casements that include glazing bars, and 20th-century panelled doors. The ground-floor openings, except for the far left, are set under segmental arches. The interior was not inspected. These houses are included for their group value.
