Description

Two pairs of gate piers and walls mark the carriageway entrance to Plympton House, dating from the 18th century. They are constructed of dressed limestone and red brick, featuring heraldic beasts as finials atop moulded caps. Red brick walls connect the outer and inner piers, and the walls are designed in a quadrant shape, ramping up to the piers. A well-crafted pair of wrought-iron gates is set between the inner piers.
